About HFE
The Highline Flute Ensemble has been performing in the Seattle area since 1989. Founded by Tammy Harris as part of her lifelong passion for music, she has championed the spirit of the ensemble over the years. Other members may have come and gone, but the mission has always been the same - performing engaging and exquisite chamber music.
Currently, we are a quintet that features a variety of flutes, from piccolo down to the bass flute. And we perform a variety of genres - including classical arrangements, jazz, contemporary, and folk. We have everything in our repertoire, including crowd-pleasing pop songs and some moving Romantic pieces. If it can be arranged for chamber ensemble, we’ll play it.

Chris Harnois is a flutist, trained in traditional Irish folk and classical styles. They started playing flute when they were young, and now it's been over 2 decades - a lifelong passion.
In the past, Chris has performed twice as the featured musician for the Moth GrandSlam events. They have collaborated with Seattle pop-artist, John Paul Sharp. And they have also been on the radio as part of Classical King FM's NW Focus Live series. They used to manage and perform with the Seattle Flute Choir, a community ensemble.
Currently, they are part of a chamber group called the Highline Flute Ensemble and team up with the Musical Mountaineers to form the Pika Trio.
You can find them on Instagram (@enbyouthere), TikTok (@woodwindwalker), and Spotify (for their collaborations with John Paul Sharp).
